### Every format has a job

Formats aren’t fashion for fashion’s sake. Each one has a job.

### Roles in short

**Reels / TikTok / Shorts** (Reach new people)

Hooks, myths, quick breakdowns

**Carousel** (Saves, depth)

Checklists, step-by-steps, “save this”

**Stories** (Closeness, dialogue)

Polls, behind the scenes, warm-ups, CTAs

**Feed post** (Aesthetic / anchor content)

Announcements, strong photos, opinions

### Classic mistake

Trying to cram everything into one 7-minute Reels “because the algorithm loves video.” Sometimes a 7-slide carousel gets more saves and clarity.

### A combo that works

1. Reels — brought in a new person
2. Profile / carousel — showed the value
3. Stories — talked and pointed to an action

> You don’t need all three every day. Understanding the roles — yes.

## Check yourself

Which format usually fits a “savable” guide best?

1. Only Stories for 24 hours
2. A carousel with a checklist / steps
3. Reels with no text on screen
4. An avatar with no posts

Explanation: Carousels are easy to swipe and save. Stories disappear; Reels are great for reach, but a long guide often works better as slides.
