“+5000 followers overnight” sounds like a win. In reality it’s often just **decor in an empty room**: numbers are there, people aren’t.

### What people usually buy

- Bot followers / empty accounts
- Likes and comments from farms
- Views with no real interest
- “Engagement” in bulk

Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts algorithms don’t care about a pretty number in the bio. They care about **behavior**:

- Do people watch to the end?
- Do they save?
- Do they leave real comments?
- Do they come back to the profile?

> If a thousand “followers” stay silent and real people barely interact — the platform concludes: nobody wants this content. Reach slides down. Paradox: you bought growth → you got a drop.

### Another ugly side effect

A fake audience **wrecks your stats**. You can’t tell what actually works. You start making the wrong content because the numbers lie.
