Privacy Policy - SubSave

Updated Feburary 2026

This privacy policy governs your use of the software application SubSave ("Application") for mobile devices.

Important: This application does not require user accounts, registration, or collect personal information. We only collect technical data for app functionality and advertising. Your mood entries and personal reflections remain completely private and stored only on your device.

1. Data We Collect

Technical Information:

  • Device type and operating system - information about your mobile device and OS version to ensure compatibility and optimal performance
  • Advertising ID (resettable in device settings) - a resettable identifier used by advertising networks to display relevant ads while protecting your anonymity
  • App usage data (session length, features used, crashes) - anonymous information about how you use the app to help us improve functionality and user experience
  • IP address (anonymized for analytics) - your IP address is collected in anonymized form for basic analytics, security monitoring, and regional customization

Local Storage: Your mood entries, calendar data, and app state are stored only on your device and deleted when you uninstall the app. This ensures your personal reflections and emotional tracking remain completely private and never transmitted to external servers.

No Personal Data: We do not collect names, emails, contacts, photos, or any personally identifiable information. Your mood tracking data remains exclusively on your device, and we have no access to your personal journal entries or emotional records.

2. How We Use Data

  • Maintain your app session state and mood history - ensure smooth app operation and preserve your entries locally on your device
  • Show relevant advertisements - display ads that may be more interesting to you based on general usage patterns while maintaining your privacy
  • Improve app performance and fix bugs - use crash reports and usage analytics to identify and resolve technical issues
  • Understand how users interact with the app - analyze feature usage to guide future development and enhancement decisions

CCPA/CPRA Notice: Sharing technical data with advertising partners may be considered "selling" under CCPA. You can opt-out through device settings by resetting your Advertising ID or enabling limit ad tracking in your device's privacy controls.

3. Data Retention & Control

We retain technical data for 13 months for analytics and 24 months for security purposes. You can:

  • Reset Advertising ID in device settings - easily reset your advertising identifier through your device's operating system settings
  • Limit ad tracking in privacy settings - restrict ad personalization through your device's privacy controls
  • Uninstall to remove all local data immediately - completely remove the app and all your mood entries from your device
  • Contact us to delete stored technical data - request deletion of any analytics data we may have stored

4. Third Party Services

We use advertising networks that may collect technical data to support app functionality and display relevant advertisements. These partners are bound by contractual obligations to protect your data:

5. Children's Privacy (COPPA & Google Families Policy)

This app is suitable for all ages. In compliance with COPPA and Google's Families Policy, the application itself does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 and has no functionality to collect such data. The app only stores your mood entries, calendar data, and app state locally on your device.

Advertising SDKs: Third-party advertising networks integrated in the app may collect technical data for advertising purposes. These SDKs operate independently from our app's core functionality.

Immediate deletion: If we learn that advertising SDKs have collected data from a child under 13 without parental consent, we will work with our advertising partners to delete it immediately.

Parental controls: Parents can contact us at [email protected] with concerns about advertising data and can manage advertising preferences through device settings.

EEA compliance: For children under 16 in the European Economic Area, we require verifiable parental consent before any data processing occurs through advertising SDKs.

6. Security

We implement reasonable technical measures to protect the limited data we collect, including encryption, access controls, and secure data transmission protocols. However, no system can guarantee 100% security, and we encourage users to maintain device security through regular updates and secure practices.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to:

  • Access what data we have about you - request information about the technical data we've collected
  • Delete your data - request erasure of any stored technical information
  • Opt-out of data sharing for advertising - limit how your data is used for personalized advertising
  • Restrict or object to data processing - limit how we process your technical data

8. Policy Changes

We may update this policy to reflect changes in our data practices, legal requirements, or app features. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. Significant changes will be indicated by updating the revision date at the top of this document.
