A profile that convertsLesson 2 of 4

Bio: words, promise, CTA

A mini landing page, not a status

Bio is a mini landing page. Not a novel, not a 2012 status.

Three layers

Bio frame
  1. 1Who you are / who it's for — keywords people search
  2. 2Promise — what they get if they stay
  3. 3CTA — what to do next (just “follow” is too vague — be concrete)

Sample skeleton:

15-minute recipes for busy people
No fancy sauces or chef vibes
👇 New episode every Sunday

Name and username

On Instagram/TikTok the profile name is searchable too. If it fits — add the essence: not just “Maya,” but “Maya | running for beginners.”

What to avoid

  • Emojis only, zero meaning
  • Five services in a comma list and zero focus
  • “I live / love / create” with no value for the follower
  • Five links and zero clear reason to follow

TikTok / Shorts

Same logic, shorter: one line of essence + how you're useful + where to look next.

What does a weak bio most often lack?

  1. The maximum number of emojis
  2. A clear “for whom” + promise + simple CTA
  3. A list of every niche hashtag
  4. A celebrity quote
Explanation: Bio should quickly answer: is this for me? what do I get? what do I do? Emojis and quotes alone don't convert follows.
