A profile that convertsLesson 3 of 4

Pins, covers, Highlights

The glance below the bio

Someone opened your profile. Bio is fine. Next, their eyes hit the grid / pins / avatar.

Pinned posts / videos

Keep 2–3 strong pieces on top:

  • the best “who I am” explainer
  • the most useful / viral piece with a clear next step
  • social proof or a result (if you honestly have it)
Pinning “just a pretty photo with no point” wastes a slot.

Covers and thumbnails

In the feed and on the video shelf people scan with their eyes. A consistent visual language + readable cover text = higher click chance.

You don't need a design agency. You need phone readability.

Highlights

Folders like:

  • Start / about me
  • Best of
  • Reviews / results
  • FAQ
If Highlights are chaos from “just yesterday's Stories,” better fewer — with real names.

Avatar

A face or a clear niche symbol. A blurry sunset “for the mood” converts worse than you + recognition.

Why pin posts at the top of a profile?

  1. To hide old content forever
  2. So a new visitor immediately sees strong “entry” pieces
  3. To bypass the hashtag limit
  4. So the algorithm definitely recommends you
Explanation: Pins are a storefront for cold traffic. They don't replace good content, but they help people grasp the account's value faster.
